Replica Chippendale Ball and Claw dining chairs

Thomas Chippendale (1714-1779) was an English furniture maker who produced distinctive high-quality furniture for many of the noble families of his time. His chairs are characterised by detailed carving with shell, dart, lion and scroll motifs. Solid mahogany was his wood of choice and he did not use veneers. Our chairs are replicas of actual antique examples: as a result, if you look closely, you can see that each design has slightly different carving for the ball and claw foot! Distinctive Chippendale-style chairs were also made by craftsmen in the United States at around the same time - mainly in Philadelphia.
